The Department of Coloproctology is located on the basis of the Municipal Center of Coloproctology in Dushanbe. The history of the department dates back to 2005, when it was founded at the “Institute for Postgraduate Education in Healthcare”. Despite so difficult way of reorganizations and optimizations, when the department was closed and again created, as a whole the proctological service was saved. At its origins stood the greatest scientist, Professor A.N. Kakharov. At the initiative of Professor A.N. Kakharov both the chair and specialized departments were created in all regions of Tajikistan, proctology offices were opened in many medical institutions. Under his leadership, the staff of the department published textbooks and monographs. From 2009 to 2015 the department was headed by candidate of medical sciences Pirov B.S. New technologies were introduced in the process of education, the programs were updated, field cycles were organized.
From October 2015 the department was headed by candidate of medical sciences Kaharova Rano Abduraufovna. To date, the department conducts training on professional programs in coloproctology “Topical issues of coloproctology. The task is to teach the diagnosis and treatment of general proctologic diseases. Special attention is paid to training specialists in restorative and reconstructive colon surgery and introduction of high technology into clinical practice. In short few years of work on the basis of chair physicians from various regions of Tajikistan have been trained. The department is engaged in continuous improvement of educational services, improvement of clinical base and quality of medical care.
